معرفی
Michael Antosh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Rhode Island (URI), serving as Director of the Medical Physics Program since 2019. He holds adjunct roles at Brown University and has extensive experience in radiation physics and biomedical research. His primary affiliations include URI’s Department of Physics and the Brown University medical physics collaboration network.
Education: B.S. in Physics (2007, University of New Hampshire), M.S. (2009) and Ph.D. (2012) in Physics from Brown University. Postdoctoral research (2012–2013) at Brown University focused on radiation biology and gene expression studies in Drosophila melanogaster.
Research interests center on medical physics applications, including radiation dosimetry, air quality monitoring via lidar technology, and gene expression biomarkers for radiation effects. His work integrates physics, bioengineering, and genomics to address clinical and environmental challenges. Recent projects explore nanoparticle-enhanced radiation therapies and threshold effects of radiation on organisms.
Publications reflect contributions to radiation biology, computational genomics, and aging mechanisms. His work has appeared in journals like PNAS, Dose-Response, and Aging. Antosh leads interdisciplinary research teams at URI and collaborates with Brown University on biomedical physics projects.
