Michael Allen

Michael Allen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia. He holds leadership roles as Vice Chair of Operational Medicine at Eisenhower Army Medical Center and Medical Director for Fort Eisenhower Fire and EMS. He is the Director of Quality for his department and serves as an oral board examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Allen has extensive military experience, including service as a flight surgeon in the 10th Mountain Division and Chief of Emergency Medicine at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. His professional interests focus on medicolegal review, performance improvement, and pre-hospital emergency services.

Education: DO from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (2007), BS in Biochemistry from Saint Vincent College (2003). Certifications include Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor (2023), Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor (2021), and Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians (2016).

Research Interests: His work integrates medicolegal challenges, trauma care optimization, and pre-hospital emergency response strategies. He has published on electrolyte abnormalities, TASER injury analysis, and buccal mucosa lesions.

Awards: Recognized with the Teaching Excellence Award (2016), Meritorious Service Medal (2016), and Bronze Star Medal (2009). Maintains military honors including the Army Flight Surgeon Badge (2008).
