Dr. Michael Aderibigbe is an Assistant Professor at the University of Southern Mississippi, located in Hattiesburg. He holds a PhD from Florida State University (2022) and an MFA from Boston University (2017). His work focuses on Poetry Writing, Hybrid Genres, Creative Nonfiction, and Black Studies, with notable contributions to African and African-American literary traditions.
His debut poetry collection, *How the End First Showed* (University of Wisconsin Press, 2018), won the Brittingham Prize in Poetry and a Florida Book Award. He has been recognized with prestigious grants and fellowships, including the 2024 PEN America Writers Grant and a Mississippi Arts Commission Individual Artist Fellowship (2022–2023). His poems appear in prominent journals such as *The Atlantic*, *The Nation*, *Ploughshares*, and *The Southern Review*.
