Michael A. Gillespie is a Professor of Political Science and Philosophy at Duke University's Trinity College of Arts & Sciences, where he has taught since 1995 (Political Science) and 2017 (Philosophy). A scholar of modern continental philosophy and political thought, he is best known for works like The Theological Origins of Modernity and Nietzsche's Final Teaching. His research explores the intersection of theology, philosophy, and political theory.
