Micaela Forteza Oliver

Micaela Forteza Oliver is a Full Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) within the Department of Art History. Since 1998, she has dedicated her career to the study and preservation of graphic and printed heritage, focusing on xylography and cultural tourism. She leads the Cultural Tourism Laboratory (CULTUR LAB) at UIB and holds three six-year research terms and five teaching terms.

Her research emphasizes the historical significance of the Guasp Printing Press (1576–1958), contributing to its legal recognition as a Cultural Interest Site (BIC) and a museum collection. She has authored books, articles, and conference presentations on graphic heritage and religious artistic preservation. As principal investigator, she integrates cultural heritage management with tourism analysis.

Professor Forteza Oliver teaches courses such as Arte y Nuevas Tecnologías (Art and New Technologies) and Gestión del Patrimonio Cultural (Cultural Heritage Management) across programs in Art History, Tourism, and Mediterranean Studies. Her work bridges academic research with practical applications for heritage conservation.
