Mia Raynard is an Assistant Professor in the Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources Division at the UBC Sauder School of Business. She holds a BCom from McGill University, an MBA from National Sun Yat-Sen University, and a PhD from the University of Alberta. Her research focuses on organization theory, disruptive change, emerging economies, climate change and sustainability, and family business dynamics. She teaches courses such as 'Managing the Family Business' and 'Advanced Topics in Organizational Theory' at the graduate level.
Raynard's research explores institutional logics, resilience in family firms, digital technology's role in organizational processes, and societal impacts of institutional change. Her work bridges theoretical insights with real-world challenges in globalized markets and evolving institutional environments. Recent publications examine topics like regulatory labels in cell-cultivated meat, crisis resilience in family businesses, and the visibilization effects of digital platforms.

Her research often integrates cross-cultural perspectives, particularly in Chinese and emerging market contexts.
