Mia Lind serves as a University Lecturer in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Mid Sweden University, based in Sundsvall. Her primary responsibilities include teaching criminology courses through both distance learning and on-campus instruction, covering scientific theory, research methodology, and criminological frameworks.
Her research concentrates on evidence-based crime prevention strategies, forensic psychiatric assessments, and stalking dynamics. Key projects include EUCPN-funded evaluations of European crime prevention initiatives, HCR-20 Version 3 forensic risk assessment research, and longitudinal studies on patients transitioning from forensic psychiatric care. Her current doctoral dissertation at Umeå University investigates police-led crime prevention methodologies.
Her 2020 publication analyzes cross-national evaluation practices in European crime prevention projects. The research demonstrates methodological trends toward standardized impact assessment frameworks and collaborative policy implementation across jurisdictions, highlighting challenges in data harmonization and stakeholder coordination.
Dr. Lind has secured research funding through the European Crime Prevention Network (EUCPN) for multinational crime prevention evaluations. She is currently developing an impact evaluation framework for national crime prevention strategies and continues forensic psychiatry research involving patient transition protocols and risk assessment tools.
