Mi-Ai Parrish is a Managing Director and Professor of Practice at Arizona State University Media Enterprise, and a Professor for Media Innovation and Leadership at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She leads ASU Media Enterprise and holds executive roles in prominent media organizations. Her career includes leadership at The Arizona Republic/AZCentral.com, Kansas City Star, and Idaho Statesman, where she became the first Korean-American publisher in mainstream media and first BIPOC publisher in multiple markets.
Her research and advocacy focus on diversity/inclusion in media, weaponization of information, and equitable journalism practices. She chairs the Poynter Institute Board of Directors, serves on the Associated Press and Common Sense Media boards, and has been a Pulitzer Prize juror four times.
