Meysam Nasr Azadani is a part-time lecturer and researcher at De Montfort University, affiliated with the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media, and the School of Engineering and Sustainable Development. He holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction and is currently pursuing his PhD at the same institution.
Educational Background:
- BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing branch, University of Najafabad (IAUN), Iran (2008)
- MSc in Mechanical Engineering with Distinction, De Montfort University, UK (2018)
His research focuses on Additive Manufacturing, Finite Element Modelling, and biomechanics, particularly in the design and fabrication of bone scaffolds using advanced materials. His work bridges mechanical engineering principles with biomedical applications, emphasizing biocompatibility, mechanical strength, and anatomical compatibility of implants.
His recent research output centers on magnesium and its alloys for bone implant applications, highlighting interests in biodegradable materials, mechanical performance under physiological conditions, and computational modeling of implant behavior. This reflects a strong interdisciplinary trend combining materials science, biomechanics, and manufacturing technologies.
Scientific Awards:
- Awarded a De Montfort University Ph.D. bursary at the school of Engineering and Sustainable Development (ESD)
He contributes to academic supervision and teaching, currently instructing Mechanical Vibrations (ENGD 2108). He serves as a Research Assistant and SLTC at DMU, actively involved in research projects. His primary research affiliation is with the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development (IESD), where he collaborates on sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.
The research group provides a multidisciplinary environment supporting his work in sustainable development and energy-efficient technologies, particularly as applied to biomedical engineering challenges.
