Mette Møller is a Senior Researcher at the Department of Technology, Management and Economics at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Her work focuses on transportation safety, cyclist behavior, youth driving, and road user attitudes. She leads and collaborates on projects addressing topics such as cognitive distraction in cyclists, safety implications of e-bikes, and the impact of accompanied driving laws.
Her research integrates multi-disciplinary approaches, combining data analysis with qualitative studies to inform policy. Notable projects include the ESRA E-Survey analyzing road user attitudes across 19 countries and the RESCUE initiative using federated learning to study cyclist behavior.
With a 3M Travelscholarship (2012), she has published over 300 peer-reviewed works. Her activities span academic leadership, conference presentations, and media engagement on traffic safety issues. She advises PhD students like F. Siar and collaborates internationally on transport-related challenges.
Møller’s work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly addressing safe mobility and sustainable cities. Her team explores behavioral, technological, and infrastructural interventions to reduce traffic risks, emphasizing evidence-based solutions.
