معرفی
Mette Mogensen is a Senior Lecturer in Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of East Anglia's School of Biological Sciences, where she has been employed since 2001. Her academic journey includes positions as Lecturer (2001-2009) before her promotion to Senior Lecturer, with prior research experience at the University of Dundee and University of St. Andrews.
Dr. Mogensen earned her B.Sc. in Genetics and Cell Biology (1980) and Ph.D. in Cell Biology (1985), both from the University of Manchester, later obtaining a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Practice (2004). Her educational foundation has supported her extensive research career focused on cellular mechanisms.
Her research program centers on cytoskeleton dynamics in health and disease, specifically investigating microtubule and centrosome reorganization during epithelial differentiation. She aims to determine the molecular mechanisms behind non-centrosomal apico-basal microtubule arrays in polarized epithelial cells, with implications for understanding cancer development. Her laboratory employs advanced techniques including GFP- and RNAi-technology along with multiple microscopy modalities to study these processes using cell, tissue, and organoid models.
Analysis of her recent publications reveals a consistent research trajectory focused on microtubule organization, centrosome dynamics, and epithelial cell biology. Her work spans fundamental cell biological mechanisms with translational applications to cancer research, demonstrating expertise in both basic science and disease-related investigations.
