Mette Juel Rothmann

Mette Juel Rothmann is a Professor at the Department of Clinical Research, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark. She holds positions at Steno Diabetes Center Odense (SDCO) and Centre for Innovative Medical Technology (CIMT). Her academic activities include teaching, supervision, and research in diabetes care, patient involvement, and health technology.

Research interests focus on diabetes management, mental health in chronic diseases, telemedicine applications, and participatory design methodologies. Recent publications explore comorbidity challenges in type 2 diabetes/schizophrenia, telemedicine implementation, and psychological interventions for diabetes distress.

She supervises PhD and master's students, serves on educational committees, and has developed teaching modules in health technology, patient involvement, and preventive medicine. Current projects include the TRIP study on maternal mental health in diabetes and chronic heart failure technology development.
