Metin KozaK

Metin KozaK is a Professor of Marketing at Kadir Has University, Turkey. His previous affiliations include Dokuz Eylul University and Yasar University. He holds a Ph.D. from Sheffield Hallam University, UK, and has served as a Visiting Professor at institutions such as Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Bournemouth University. His research focuses on tourism marketing, consumer behavior, and destination management, with over 2,500 citations in Web of Science and 20,000+ citations on Google Scholar. He has been ranked among the most prolific authors in tourism research globally.

Education: Ph.D. in Marketing (Sheffield Hallam University, 2000), MSc in Tourism (Dokuz Eylul University, 1993), BA in Economics (Cukurova University, 1991).

Research interests include marketing strategies in tourism, consumer behavior analysis, and sustainable tourism practices. He has led numerous international research projects and serves as an editorial board member for over 20 journals, including Anatolia and Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research. His work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to tourism challenges, particularly post-pandemic recovery and destination competitiveness.

Awards include the Tourism Researcher of the Year 2003 and recognition as a Fellow of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism. He has advised over 20 Ph.D. and Master’s students across multiple universities and co-chaired major international conferences such as the Advances in Tourism Marketing Conference and the World Conference for Graduate Research in Tourism.
