Mete CİHAN

Prof. Dr. Mete CİHAN is a faculty member at Kafkas University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in the Department of Clinical Sciences (Veterinary Surgery). He holds a Doctorate in Veterinary Surgery (1998) and two additional bachelor's degrees in International Relations and Political Science from Anadolu University (2023, 2019). His academic career at Kafkas University spans multiple roles including Dean (2019-Present) and Professor (since 2011).

Research Interests focus on:

• Veterinary Surgery techniques
• Wound healing and fibrosis prevention
• Biomedical materials in animal surgery
• Neonatal calf and ruminant diseases
• Clinical applications of hyaluronic acid
• Wildlife health and trauma management

Scientific Contributions include 16 research projects as investigator, particularly in bovine respiratory disease complex, urethral defect repair, and adhesion prevention in tendon surgery. His work spans experimental studies in mouse, rabbit, and ruminant models, emphasizing clinical applications of viscoelastic materials, hyaluronic acid, and biomaterials.

Academic Leadership includes mentoring multiple graduate students and teaching courses like General Surgery, Clinical Practice, and Experimental Surgery at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
