Research interests include optimizing firmware updates for heterogeneous smart home devices, analyzing power consumption vs. user convenience trade-offs in smart technologies, and evaluating the robustness of IoT devices under network disruptions and cyberattacks. His work bridges technical implementation with user-centered design principles.
Current projects span diverse areas such as DES Testbed, Einstein Center Digital Future (ECDF), Geocrowd, HyperStar, Indoor Localization, Peeroskop, RIOT, SAFEST, SKIMS, VIVE Medien, and X-CHECK. These initiatives explore networked systems, cybersecurity, and digital future technologies.
Thesis supervision focuses on practical challenges in smart home systems, covering user convenience metrics, DoS attack resilience, and firmware update automation. Both bachelor's and master's students benefit from his expertise in networked systems under these topics.
