Meri Koivusalo is Professor of Global Health and Development at Tampere University's Faculty of Social Sciences. She holds an MD and Dr.Sc. from Finland, with affiliations at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare.
Her research analyzes global health governance, trade agreements' health impacts, and equity in social protection systems. Recent work includes EU trade policy critiques, COVID-19 health system analyses, and frameworks for health-in-all-policies. She co-leads projects on platform economy risks and climate-dietary health in sub-Saharan Africa.
Selected publications address pandemic agreements, algorithmic management in gig work, and sexual/reproductive rights in UN policy. She teaches global health policy and advises doctoral candidates.
