Merete Lundetræ Andersen is a PhD Research Fellow at the Department of Visual Arts and Drama, University of Agder. Her research focuses on documentary theatre addressing collective memories and trauma, particularly through contemporary Norwegian WWII narratives as part of the interdisciplinary 'Making Memories' project. She holds an interdisciplinary background in theatre, visual arts, and practical-aesthetic teacher training with extensive experience teaching children and adolescents. Her interests include the social mission of art, applied theatre methodologies, and the role of practical learning in youth development.
Research Interests: Her work bridges documentary performance practices and historical memory, exploring how theatre engages with traumatic histories. She emphasizes the pedagogical dimensions of drama and the intersection between art and societal impact. Current projects investigate how performative documentation can preserve and critically engage with national narratives.
