Meret Haack

Meret Haack is a Researcher at the Institute of Ethnology within the Faculty for the Study of Culture at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, where she serves as a Doctoral Candidate on the DFG-funded Reinhart Koselleck-project "Planetary Healing as transformative process" (grant 529294330) under Principal Investigator Prof Dr Eveline Dürr.

Her research critically examines feminist political ecology and environmental anthropology through the lens of (neo)extractivism, with concentrated focus on environmental and feminist movements in Latin America. Current work revisits human-environment relations in Chile via her PhD project "Planetary healing through transformation?", analyzing socio-ecological crises through transformative healing frameworks.

Haack contributes to the university's Planetary Healing work group investigating interdisciplinary solutions to environmental degradation, leveraging ethnographic methods to document activist strategies and community resilience in contested resource landscapes across Latin America.
