Merel Verhoeff

Merel Verhoeff is an Assistant Professor at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam within the Orofacial Pain and Dysfunction department. Her research focuses on bruxism, temporomandibular disorders, orofacial pain, and sleep-related dental issues. She collaborates internationally on studies addressing clinical and psychological factors in dental conditions.

Her research interests include:

Recent work explores predictors of sleep bruxism in patients with jaw disorders, dental practitioners’ approaches to bruxism, and the historical context of bruxism research. She co-teaches courses on clinical profiles and temporomandibular abnormalities.
