Meredith Newman

Meredith Newman is a Distinguished University Professor of Public Administration at Florida International University (FIU), affiliated with the Steven J. Green School of International & Public Affairs. She previously served as Vice Provost for Faculty and Global Affairs, overseeing faculty initiatives and international partnerships through FIU Global. Prior to her academic career, she held roles in the Australian Foreign Service, U.S. Department of State, and World Bank, with postings in France, Vietnam, Senegal, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Her expertise focuses on public management and the emotive aspects of work. Dr. Newman has authored award-winning books and contributed significantly to public administration scholarship. She has led global initiatives through leadership roles in professional organizations, including Chair of NASPAA’s Commission on Peer Review, Vice President for International Cooperation at IASIA, and President of ASPA.
