Meow Hui Goh is an Associate Professor in Chinese at The Ohio State University's Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, part of the College of Arts and Sciences. She specializes in medieval Chinese literature and cultural history, focusing on memory, emotion, and authenticity. Her research explores topics like literary history, Buddhist influences on poetry, and the propagandistic role of literature.
Dr. Goh holds a Ph.D. in Chinese literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2004). She has held a post-doctoral fellowship at Stanford University and received grants including the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation’s Scholar Grant and an ACLS conference grant. Her current book projects include The Double Life of Chaos: Living Memory and Literature in Early Medieval China and a study on authenticity in Chinese manuscript culture.
Her recent publications analyze topics such as Yongming-era poetry, Xie Lingyun’s landscape imagery, and Chen Lin’s wartime propaganda writings. She teaches premodern Chinese literature and innovative courses integrating emotional intelligence through literary analysis.
