State University of New York at Buffaloمعرفی
Meng Wang, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Department of Epidemiology and Environmental Health in the School of Public Health and Health Professions at the University at Buffalo. He serves as Director of the MPH Concentration in Environmental Health. His research spans environmental exposure monitoring, air pollution modeling, and health impacts of environmental exposures.
- PhD in Environmental Health from Utrecht University (2013)
- MSc in Atmospheric Science from Peking University (2009)
- BS in Pharmaceutical Engineering from Tianjin University (2006)
Wang's research focuses on producing accurate human exposure estimates for health studies using advanced technologies like fixed/mobile monitoring, remote sensing, and low-cost sensors. He investigates associations between air pollution and respiratory/cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and mechanistic pathways including genetic-environment interactions. His work involves projects in the US (MESA-Air), Europe (ESCAPE, TRANSPHORM), and China (CAREBEIJING), with contributions to exposure models, policy evaluation, and subclinical disease analysis.
His recent publications emphasize high-resolution pollution modeling, health burden projections under climate scenarios, and community-based exposure characterization. Wang is affiliated with the UB RENEW Institute, which addresses interdisciplinary energy and environmental challenges.
