Menachem Elimelech is the Nancy and Clint Carlson Professor at Rice University, with joint appointments in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering. Previously, he held the Sterling Professorship at Yale University, where he founded the Environmental Engineering program. His research focuses on membrane-based technologies for desalination, water reuse, and nanomaterial applications in environmental engineering. He has authored over 560 publications and holds numerous awards, including the Eni Prize (2015) and Clarke Prize (2005). Elimelech has advised 52 PhD students and 50 postdocs, many of whom are leaders in academia and industry. His work addresses critical global water challenges through innovations in membrane science and sustainable resource management.
