Meltem Koç

Meltem Koç serves as faculty member at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University's Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, specializing in Orthopedic Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation. She holds a Doctorate in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation from Gazi University (2017-2022), a Master's degree from Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University (2015-2017), and a Bachelor's degree from Gazi University (2009-2013). Her academic career includes teaching diverse courses across multiple semesters including Kinesiology, Superficial Anatomy and Palpation, Orthopedic Rehabilitation, Geriatric Rehabilitation, Hand Rehabilitation, and Clinical Studies.

Dr. Koç's research interests span orthopedic rehabilitation, hand therapy, geriatric rehabilitation, musculoskeletal disorders, pain management, and clinical assessment tools. Her work demonstrates particular expertise in back pain assessment, shoulder rehabilitation, foot health, and telerehabilitation. She has contributed significantly to the validation of various assessment tools including the Back Pain Functional Scale and the Yellow Flag Questionnaire for Turkish populations.

Her scholarly output shows consistent growth with numerous publications in 2023-2025 across international journals including Journal of Hand Therapy, WORK: A Journal of Prevention, Assessment & Rehabilitation, and The Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association. She has participated in multiple research projects, including the Turkish Adaptation of the Functional Low Back Pain Scale and research on footwear choices and foot health. Her teaching responsibilities include supervising graduation projects and clinical studies, indicating her role in mentoring future physiotherapists.
