Melissa Samuelson

Melissa Samuelson is a Clinical Associate Professor at the W. P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University (ASU), where she has been employed since 2014. She serves as the School of Accountancy's Teaching Lead and Associate Director. She is affiliated with the Lincoln Center Applied Ethics and Lincoln Center Affiliated Faculty.

Her research focuses on ethics, behavior and decision-making, international corruption, and the social impacts of economic development, with a particular emphasis on microfinance and integrating personal values into professional ethics. Her teaching spans business ethics, governance, and enterprise risk management. She has conducted fieldwork in Afghanistan, Algeria, Jordan, and Nepal, including program design for women entrepreneurs and refugee toolkits.

Her publications explore ethical decision-making in accounting, including slippery slope versus licensing behavior dynamics. She mentors honors thesis students and leads the International Business Ethics Case Competition teams.
