Melissa Proietti is a faculty member in the Core Division at Champlain College, specializing in General Education. She earned her PhD from McGill University in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education.

Her research focuses on the development of visual urban arts and gallery spaces within the transformation of schools into urban arts concentration institutions. She pioneered YPAC (Youth Participatory Action Curation) as an educational tool. With 20 years of experience in formal and informal educational contexts, Melissa has extensive expertise in graffiti and street art, informed by her 15-year involvement with the Under Pressure International Graffiti Festival and her current leadership of Queens Creation, an all-women’s hip hop event in Montreal.
She collaborates with international artists and city officials on art-related consultation committees, contributing to conferences, panels, and large-scale mural projects.
