Melissa Lynn Davis

Melissa Lynn Davis is a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the Criminal Practice Clinic at the University of New Hampshire School of Law. She joined UNH Law in 2020 to supervise students representing clients in criminal cases across New Hampshire's Circuit and Superior Courts. Previously, she served at the New Hampshire Public Defender (NHPD) since 2005, progressing from Staff Attorney to Managing Attorney of the Littleton Office. She also led the New Lawyer Trial Skills Course, a foundational training program for NHPD attorneys.

Her education includes a J.D. from American University's Washington College of Law (2005) and a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara (1999). She currently teaches courses such as Trial Advocacy, Evidence, and Advanced Criminal Practice Clinic.

Professor Davis is a board member of the New Hampshire Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and serves on its CLE committee. Her professional recognitions include membership in the American College of Trial Lawyers and the NH Bar Association’s 2023 award for Public Sector/Public Interest Law.
