Melissa Lee Wilson

Melissa L. Wilson is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine at the University of Southern California. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh, an MPH in Epidemiology from UCLA, and a PhD in Epidemiology from USC. Her research focuses on perinatal epidemiology, including molecular mechanisms of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and placental epigenetics.

Dr. Wilson teaches PM510 Principles of Biostatistics and PM586 Perinatal and Reproductive Epidemiology. She mentors undergraduate, graduate, and medical students in research projects spanning protocol development to manuscript preparation. Her recent publications demonstrate a strong focus on pregnancy complications, genetic epidemiology, and diagnostic innovations.

As a Biostatistician for the SC-CTSI BERD core, she has contributed to over 250 research studies, aiding in study design, statistical analysis, and grant development.
