Melissa K. Merry is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Louisville. She holds a PhD from the University of Washington and previously served as a Visiting Professor at Pacific Lutheran University. Her research focuses on public policy theory, environmental politics, gun policy, information technology, and political communication. She has authored two books, including Framing Environmental Disaster (2013) and Warped Narratives (2020), and serves as an Associate Editor for the Policy Studies Journal.

Her 2023 work on climate framing and 2021 analysis of climate science credibility highlight her interdisciplinary approach to policy communication.
