Melissa Holt is Professor of Counseling Psychology and Director of the Kilachand Honors College at Boston University. She earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a licensed psychologist specializing in adolescent mental health.
Her research examines bias-based harassment among adolescents, school-based prevention programs, and experiences of gender diverse youth, with funding from the National Institutes of Justice. Holt has co-edited two books: 'Critical Issues in School Mental Health' and 'Bullying and Peer Victimization,' and published extensively on bullying, victimization, and mental health interventions.
She teaches courses ranging from first-year seminars to doctoral-level courses and received the Excellence in Graduate Advising Award from BU Wheelock in 2016.
