Melissa Fusco

Melissa Fusco is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Columbia University, affiliated with the School of Arts and Sciences. She joined the department in 2016 and specializes in philosophy of language, formal semantics, decision theory, and philosophical logic. Her research also extends to metaethics and metaphysics, with current projects focusing on natural language theories of modality and the semantics of disjunctive questions.

Professional Activities: She co-organized the Semantics and Rational Norms Workshop and co-taught an ESSLLI 2024 course on related topics (with Matt Mandelkern). She is also involved with the Prison University Project, an initiative recognized with the National Humanities Medal.

Labs/Teams: Engaged in collaborative research within the Columbia Philosophy Department and interdisciplinary projects in formal semantics and decision theory.
