Dr. Melissa Boston is a Professor of Mathematics Education at Duquesne University's School of Education. She teaches mathematics methods courses for K-12 teachers and conducts national professional development programs. Her research examines mathematics teaching through classroom observations and student work analysis using the Instructional Quality Assessment toolkit.
Her research interests focus on improving mathematics teaching practices, instructional quality assessment, and equitable mathematics instruction. She investigates how to support teachers in implementing cognitively demanding tasks and promoting student reasoning.
