Dr. Melissa Collucci is a Professor in the School of Education at St. Thomas Aquinas College (STAC), where she focuses on literacy education and teacher preparation. Since joining STAC in 2017, she has taught 12 courses and served as an advisor for the Kappa Delta Pi honor society, organizing community service events. Her research emphasizes preparing educators to support multilingual learners and fostering inclusive classroom environments.
Dr. Collucci has collaborated with faculty to develop the First Year Seminar curriculum and secured grants to create tutoring programs for local children. She prioritizes student-centered learning, using journals to build peer connections and ensuring academic and social support. Her work extends beyond the classroom through literacy advocacy, including volunteering for book drives and tutoring services.
Previously, she held professorial roles at multiple universities, emphasizing literacy education. She actively contributes to STAC’s mission of individualized student support, reflecting her belief in leveraging language as a tool for equitable learning.
