Melissa Bowlby

Melissa Bowlby is a Clinical Associate Professor at Ohio University's College of Health Sciences and Professions, where she holds dual leadership roles as Department Chair and PA Program Director. She actively shapes physician assistant education through service on six key university committees: Admission, Assessment, Curriculum, Student Progress, Graduate Council, and Accreditation.

Her academic foundation includes a BS in Athletic Training (Wilmington College), an MS in Biomedical Sciences with PA specialization (University of Toledo), and an MHA (Ohio University). Clinically, she brings expertise from orthopedic and emergency medicine settings as both a certified Physician Assistant and Athletic Trainer.

Professionally engaged beyond the university, she serves on the Ohio Association of Physician Assistant's Governmental Affairs Committee (as Past-President and current member), represents Ohio in the American Academy of Physician Associates House of Delegates, and contributes to the PA Education Association's Governmental Relations Steering Committee.
