Melissa Atkinson is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of Bath, affiliated with the Bath Centre for Mindfulness and Compassion. Her research focuses on eating disorders, body image, and prevention strategies, with a particular emphasis on mindfulness and cognitive dissonance approaches across schools, universities, and online platforms. She directs the MSc in Applied Clinical Psychology program and accepts PhD students researching eating disorders or body image.
