Dr. Melis Bağkur is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at Near East University's Faculty of Health Sciences. She has been actively engaged in pediatric rehabilitation since 2008 and joined the university as faculty in 2022 following the completion of her doctoral studies.
Education & Qualifications:
- BSc: Dokuz Eylül University, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation (2008)
- MSc: Near East University, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (2015-2017)
- PhD: Near East University, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (2018-2021)
- International Bobath Therapy Certification (2017)
- International Body Awareness Therapy Certification (2023)
Research Focus: Dr. Bağkur's work centers on pediatric rehabilitation methodologies, with specialized training in Bobath Therapy (for neurological rehabilitation) and Body Awareness Therapy (for movement and postural control). Her research spans developmental interventions for at-risk infants and evidence-based physiotherapy practices.
