Melinda Bier

Dr. Melinda Bier is the Teresa M. Fischer Endowed Professor for Citizenship Education and Co-Director of the Center for Character and Citizenship at the University of Missouri, St. Louis. She holds a Senior Research Fellow position in the College of Education's Division of Educational Psychology, Evaluation and Research. Her expertise spans character education, teacher preparation, professional development, and technology-enhanced learning.

Her research examines K-12 educational innovations, cross-disciplinary service learning (e.g., Youth Empowerment in Action projects), and evidence-based strategies for moral development. She has managed professional development programs for diverse teacher populations and contributed to philanthropic educational initiatives.
