Prof. Dr. Melih Balcı is a Professor at Uskudar University Faculty of Medicine's Department of Urology. He graduated from Gazi University School of Medicine in 2005 and completed his residency at Ankara Numune Education and Research Hospital. He specialized in robotic surgery, endourology, and uro-oncology through training at Vanderbilt University and the Europe Urology Assistantship Program in the Czech Republic. His expertise includes minimally invasive procedures, robotic-assisted surgeries, and advanced laparoscopic techniques.
Research interests focus on uro-oncology, antibiotic prophylaxis optimization, and surgical outcomes in conditions like prostate cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia. He has contributed over 59 publications with an h-index of 15. Notable work includes studies on near-infrared imaging in adrenal surgery and robotic partial adrenalectomy.
Teaching activities include undergraduate courses like 'Board Courses in Medicine (Board 3B)' and supervision of graduate theses. He holds certifications from the Turkish Urology Proficiency Council and is a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU).
