Melanie Pilcher

Melanie Pilcher is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy. She practices clinically at the UAMS Thomas and Lyon Longevity Clinic, where she provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care including anticoagulation management, drug information consultations, and medication adherence support for geriatric patients.

Her education includes:

• Pharm.D. from University of the Pacific (1984)
• General Hospital Pharmacy Residency at St. John’s Hospital (1984-1985)
• Specialty Residency in Geriatric Pharmacy Practice at UAMS (1985-1986)

Dr. Pilcher's clinical practice focuses on geriatric pharmacotherapy with specialized interests in anticoagulation management, medication therapy optimization, and interdisciplinary care coordination. She maintains active roles in educating pharmacy students and residents through geriatric elective rotations and serves as a preceptor for P4 students, VA residents, and geriatric pharmacy residents.

She received the UAMS College of Pharmacy Preceptor of the Year Award in 2008 for her outstanding educational contributions.
