Meinrad Busslinger is a Professor at the University of Vienna and Senior Scientist at the Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP) in Vienna since 1987. He was elected as a Member of the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) in 1990 and the Academia Europaea in 2000, and received the Wittgenstein Prize in 2001. His career includes leadership roles such as Scientific Deputy Director of the IMP (2013) and Director of Academic Affairs at the IMP (2007).

Busslinger's research focuses on the transcriptional control of B cell development, Notch signaling in T cell biology, stem cell commitment in hematopoiesis, and the spatial regulation of V(D)J recombination. His work has significantly advanced understanding of B cell lineage commitment and immune system development.
He has authored 75 peer-reviewed journal papers and holds 1 patent. His most recent publications highlight mechanisms in lymphocyte differentiation and gene regulation.
