Dr. Meike Löhr is a PostDoc researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (EAWAG), specifically within the Department of Environmental Social Sciences. She is affiliated with the Cirus (Sustainability Transitions Research in Infrastructure Sectors) and PEGO (Policy Analysis and Environmental Governance) research groups. Her work bridges transition studies and political science, focusing on how actors and coalitions influence systemic transitions, particularly in energy sectors and multi-system interactions.
Her research emphasizes policy mixes, actor strategies, and systemic challenges in renewable energy adoption (e.g., hydrogen, wind), analyzing stagnation phases and institutional dynamics. Key projects include studying Germany’s hydrogen policy and regional wind energy development barriers. She holds a Ph.D. on comparative energy transitions in Denmark, Germany, and France, published in 2020.
Dr. Löhr’s recent publications explore policy process theories, coalition formation in sustainability transitions, and sector coupling via hydrogen-based projects. She contributes to conferences like the International Sustainability Transitions Conference and publishes in journals such as Environmental Innovation and Societal Transitions and Energy Research and Social Science.
Her focal areas include transition studies, policy analysis, and multi-system interactions. She is based in Dübendorf, Switzerland, and actively collaborates across academic and policy networks.
