Meihong Deng, MD, is an Associate Professor in Molecular Medicine and Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and an Associate Professor at the Institute of Molecular Medicine within the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research (Northwell Health). Her research focuses on immune dysregulation during sepsis and trauma, DNA sensing in innate immunity, and exercise therapy as an immune modulator.
- MD, University of Duisburg-Essen (2010)
- MS, Biochemistry, University of Hong Kong (2006)
- MB, Medicine, Sun Yat-Sen University (2003)
Her work spans immunology, molecular metabolism, and therapeutic interventions, including TLR9 signaling, trained immunity, and Notch pathway dynamics. Recent publications highlight metabolic reprogramming in pre-operative exercise therapy and HMGB1's role in septic lethality.
- 2015 Junior Faculty Fellowship Award, Surgical Infection Society
- 2008 & 2007 Heinrich Hertz-Scholar, Heinrich Hertz-Stiftung
