Prof. Mehtap Kaçar serves as Vice Dean at Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine and Professor in the Department of Physiology. Her academic career spans over two decades at Yeditepe University, progressing from Instructor (2007) to Associate Professor (2014, 2017) and Professor (2021). She holds dual appointments in Physiology and Pathophysiology disciplines.

- Firat University, MD (1985-1991)
Her research integrates physiology, toxicology, and clinical medicine with focus on cadmium toxicity mechanisms, oxidative stress pathways, autism spectrum disorders, and exercise physiology. Current projects investigate post-COVID exercise capacity, chronic fatigue syndrome pathophysiology, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease interventions. Her 15 most recent publications demonstrate strong emphasis on molecular signaling pathways (mTOR, midkine, galectin-3) across multiple organ systems.
Scientific recognition includes:
- 3rd Place Award at 34th National Physiology Congress
She supervises extensive graduate research with 10 documented theses (2019-2025) and leads major projects including TÜBİTAK 1001 grants. Her administrative leadership includes Dean Assistant (2024), Department Chair (2017), and Bologna Commission membership (2019).
