Dr. Mehrnoosh Mirzaei is an Associate Lecturer in Design at the University of Queensland's School of Architecture, Design and Planning. She holds a PhD from Queensland University of Technology (2023) focused on disaster risk reduction education through experiential learning and embodiment. Her academic background includes a Master's and Bachelor's in Industrial Design from the University of Tehran (specializing in Product Design).
Her research interests span disaster risk reduction, health and well-being, resiliency strategies, and research-through-design methodologies. She applies design-led approaches to address complex challenges in healthcare and risk perception, emphasizing child-centered solutions. Notable collaborations include government organizations for risk awareness programs in Queensland and co-design initiatives with healthcare practitioners to improve inter-hospital transfer systems.
Mehrnoosh's work bridges theory and practice, evidenced by her Bronze A' Design Award (2017) for the 'Escher' project.
