Dr Mehrad Hamidian is a Senior Lecturer in Microbiology at the Australian Institute for Microbiology and Infection (AIMI) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). His research focuses on antibiotic resistance mechanisms in Acinetobacter baumannii, particularly genomic characterization of resistance genes and plasmid dynamics. He holds a PhD in Microbiology from the University of Sydney and an MSc in Medical Microbiology from Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
