Mehmet YILDIRIM is an Assistant Professor at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University, Faculty of Islamic Sciences, Department of Islamic History and Arts, Turkey. He previously served as an Assistant Professor at Yüzüncü Yıl University, Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education. He has held significant administrative positions including Department Chair (2017-2022) and Deputy Dean (2017-2019) at Kırşehir Ahi Evran University.
Dr. YILDIRIM earned his PhD (1992-1997), Master's (1987-1990), and BA (1973-1977) degrees from Erciyes University, Faculty of Theology, specializing in Islamic History and Arts. His academic career spans over three decades with continuous contributions to Islamic historical studies.
His primary research focuses on Islamic History with specializations in Ottoman historiography, conquest narratives, early Islamic migration patterns, and political structures of medieval Islamic states. His scholarly work demonstrates deep engagement with primary historical sources and critical analysis of historical narratives across different Islamic periods and regions.
Dr. YILDIRIM's publications reveal consistent research output with emphasis on historical document analysis spanning from the early Islamic period to Ottoman history. His work shows particular interest in conquest narratives, migration history during Prophet Muhammad's era, and political structures of Turkic Islamic dynasties in Central Asia.
