معرفی
Prof. Dr. Mehmet YAĞMUR is a full-time Professor in the Field Crops Department at Ahi Evran University's Faculty of Agriculture, where he has served since 2018. Previously, he held associate professor (2010-2018), assistant professor (2009-2010), and research assistant (1995-2009) positions at Ahi Evran and Yüzüncü Yıl Universities. He currently serves as Department Head and Faculty Council Member.
His research focuses on Cereals and Food Legumes, with specialization in dryland agriculture, crop breeding, and agronomic practices for rainfed conditions. His work extensively examines yield components, stress adaptation, and ecological optimization for crops including wheat, barley, rye, lentils, chickpeas, and dry beans. Key research areas include sowing techniques, seed rate optimization, drought/salinity stress responses, and morphological trait analysis.
His publication analysis reveals strong emphasis on field crop physiology and agronomic optimization, with recent works (2021-2024) focusing on lentil sowing density, rye cultivation under dry conditions, barley yield components, and chickpea adaptation. His research demonstrates consistent application of statistical modeling (e.g., Weibull model for root growth) and ecological adaptation studies across Central Anatolian conditions.
He has supervised 10 master's students between 2016-2023, with thesis topics covering rye, barley, lentil, chickpea, and wheat cultivation. His collaborative network includes researchers from Kırşehir Ahi Evran University (e.g., Ömer Sözen), Yüzüncü Yıl University, and other Turkish institutions.
His academic metrics include Google Scholar h-index of 17, 1344 citations, and 52 publications. He has led one research project on molecular characterization of local dry bean populations in the Middle Kızılırmak Valley.
