Mehmet Onur Hasdedeoğlu is an Associate Professor at Kastamonu University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Turkish Language and Literature. He previously held positions as Assistant Professor (2013-2022) and Research Assistant (2005-2013) at Istanbul Kültür University, and currently serves as Academic Application Center Manager since 2025. His career includes roles as Rector's Advisor (2014-2019) and Erasmus Coordinator (2013-present).

His 2025 article 'Balkan Türklerinin Atatürk Şiirlerinde Ortak Semboller' examines cultural symbolism in Turkish-Balkan literary ties, while 2023 work 'Cognitive Blending in Metaphor Translation' bridges linguistics and cognitive science.
Scientific recognition includes the 2016 Takdir award from Iktisat ve Girişimcilik Üniversitesi. He has supervised 10 master's theses on topics ranging from mythological elements in Ayla Kutlu's works to migration themes in post-1950 Turkish novels. His editorial roles at Türük Dergisi (2019) and Akademik Bakış (2016) demonstrate scholarly leadership.
