Mehmet Karamanoglu is Professor and Head of the Department of Design Engineering and Mathematics at Middlesex University's Faculty of Science and Technology. With extensive industry collaboration experience, he specializes in mechatronics, automation, and the intersection of art, design, and engineering. Karamanoglu leads the MSc programs in Mechatronic Systems Engineering and Automation and Digital Manufacturing.
His research explores engineering education methodologies, robotic systems, and advanced manufacturing optimization. Recent publications focus on blockchain applications in Industry 4.0, digital twins, and sustainable campus design. Karamanoglu serves as the UK National Expert for WorldSkills Mechatronics competitions and chairs the GAMBICA University-Industry Collaboration Council.
He actively mentors doctoral candidates and has managed numerous Knowledge Transfer Partnership projects bridging academia and industry.
