Mehmet Haberal

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Haberal is the founder of Baskent University, established to advance Turkey's educational and healthcare landscape in alignment with Atatürk's principles and Turkish Republic values. As a distinguished Professor of Medicine, he spearheaded the creation of the university's comprehensive academic and medical infrastructure across multiple Turkish cities.

His research expertise centers on Transplant Surgery and Organ Transplantation, driving innovations in surgical medicine and healthcare delivery. This specialization underpins Baskent University's robust medical faculties and its network of teaching hospitals, research centers, and dialysis facilities nationwide.

Haberal's leadership established critical academic units including the Faculty of Medicine, Institute of Health Sciences, and Institute of Transplantation and Gene Sciences. His vision integrated clinical practice with education through Ankara Hospital and regional application centers in Adana, Alanya, Istanbul, Konya, and Izmir.
